Down at the Construction Site

Down at the construction site
Big Machines move with all their might
Getting the ground smooth and flat
And putting heavy framing up on that

I am the digger with my arm so strong
Scooping up dirt all day long
I fill up the bucket and take it somewhere else
my driver pulls the lever and the dirt tips out

You can hear the nail guns bang bang bang
The beep of the vehicles, clatter and clang
The builders in their hard hats fitting it together
Putting up the roof in all kinds of weather

I am the Bobcat, nifty and small
I move dirt too, no problem at all
The light on my roof flashes off and on
I move on wheels or minitracks to get the job done

I’m the cement truck, ready to pour
My drum spins round and mixes up more
It comes out wet but dries in the heat
Making the hard and flat concrete
